SINCE INAUGURATING CAMPS IN 1988, COACH BOBBY BENTLEY HAS BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NUMEROUS ATHLETES, GARNERING NATIONAL ACCLAIM FOR HIS COACHING PROWESS AND EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS.

1995-2006 Head Coach at Byrnes HS

  • Won four-consecutive state championships from 2002-05. The Rebels posted a 57-2 record during the title streak run.

  • Bentley is the only coach in South Carolina history to have 3 quarterbacks pass for over 10,000 career yards

  • Coached 2 Parade All American QBs

  • Coached 7 Shrine Bowl/North-South Quarterbacks

  • One of only 3 head coaches in SC to win 4 consecutive State Titles

  • Has tutored over 45 QBs who have earned collegiate scholarships

  • Has coached 12 Shrine Bowl/North-South receivers and 24 receivers who have earned collegiate scholarships.

2007-2008 Head Coach at Presbyterian College

  • Ranked 3rd nationally in both passing yards & broke the school records for yards in a season and points scored.

  • QB Tim Webb passed for 648 yards & 7 TDs in one game & holds the school record for pass completion percentage at 73%

  • State Champions 2009 & 2011

2014-15 Auburn University

  • Offensive analyst - worked with a trio of running backs, Cameron Artis-Payne, Corey Grant and Peyton Barber, all of whom went on to play in the NFL.

2016-2020 University of South Carolina

  • Coached RBs and TEs

  • Coached QBs for the 2018 Outback Bowl win over Michigan and game MVP Jake Bentley

  • Coached NFL players: Rico Dowdle, Ty’son Williams, Kyle Markway and Nick Muse

2021-2022 University of South Florida

  • Coached 2 All-Conference wide receivers in Xavier Weaver and Jimmy Horn

AS A FORMER DIVISION ONE QUARTERBACK TURNED QUARTERBACK COACH, COACH JAKE BENTLEY POSSESSES FIRSTHAND INSIGHT INTO WHAT IT TAKES TO REACH ELITE STATUS AS A QUARTERBACK.

Playing Experience

45 career starts at the FBS level with 10,855 yards passing and 78 touchdowns.

2016 - 2019 Quarterback at The University of South Carolina

  • 2016 Team MVP

  • 2017 & 2018 Team Captain

  • In 29 career starts: 2nd in career completion percentage (62.5%), 3rd in completions (626), 3rd in touchdown passes (55), and fourth in passing yards (7,527).

2020 Quarterback at The University of Utah

  • 2020 Team Captain

  • Completed 62.1% of passes, 882 yards and 6 touchdowns through 6 games.

2021 Quarterback at The University of South Alabama

  • 2021 Team Captain

  • Broke six school records while completing 70% of passes for 2,476 yards and 17 touchdowns through 10 games.

  • All-SBC Honorable Mention

Coaching Experience

2022-2023 QB and WR assistant at Florida Atlantic University 

  • Aided in development of QB N’kosi Perry (PFF 3rd Team All-CUSA).

  • Aided in development of WR La’Johntay Wester (Honorable Mention All-CUSA).

  • Set record for most passing TDs in a game (5).

2023-2024 Quarterback Coach at the University of North Alabama

  • Coached QB Noah Walters who finished the 2023 regular season ranked 10th in FCS incompletions, 13th in passing TDs, 19th in big time throws (PFF), 20th in rushing yards by QB, 32nd in passing yards.

  • QB Noah Walters set school records in win over #17 Chattanooga for passing attempts(63) and 2nd in completions (36) while completing passes to 11 different receivers.

  • ‣ Noah Walters selected to UAC All-Academic Team
